Good Golly Miss Molly

What a fun afternoon last Saturday was! Abi and a few of her friends brought their american girl dolls over to Miss Molly's Tea Room in Medina Ohio. I love love love their chicken salad, broccoli salad, and strawberry pretzel salad. I chose to have the french vanilla tea which was really good as well. Funny thing is..from the sound of all the "salad" you would think I ate healthy....well...snap! it was soo fattening ha!

Here is a pic of Ava and Hunter. According to him they are going to get married when they are "like nine or something". Cute. Too cute!

Thanks Rachel and Stacey for organizing this. It was a blast!

Just some updates on me..

Hi everyone! I am gearing up for a long summer with the kiddo's at home..well in between some camps and vacations we have planned.

Lets see: Ava has safety town for 2 weeks this month to help prepare for kindergarten, a ballet camp in July, ballet classes every tuesday am, and tutoring club Monday and wednesday am to help her get a kick start on reading. She is smart. She is already reading simple books and can do all of the math that Ajay brings home and he is almost done with first grade.

Ajay is doing lots of camp this summer to help keep him occupied and in a routine. I schedualed him for the fun camps at our rec center..he has a pirate week, a wacky water week and a zoo week. Plus my mother is taking him for 2 weeks in the end of July into 2nd week of August. That will be a nice break for both of us. My mom is most likely going to spoil him to pieces.

Abi: She is doing a nice outdoors hike camp this month at her school, then she has a ballet intensive in July. In addition to that she has piano every week and takes ballet classes every Wednesday and Thursday evening.

We are going to Hilton Head the end of July which will be so much fun. I have to start planning it but I for sure want to take a day or 2 to go to Savannah. Bobby and I were there when I was pregnant with Ava so many years ago. I want to go to Paula Deans' restaurant the Lady and SOns. It will be an interesting vacay because it will just be Bobby and I and the girls. I already had it booked since January and when My mom told me the dates she can take Ajay they happened to be the same. So we took her up on it.

Abi's parties are getting to be a little more difficult. She has 2 sets of very important friends...school ones and ballet ones. The ballet ones are closer to her..so she want to have an exclusive party with just them..and then her school ones she wants to invite all the girls to a pool party. The entire 3rd grade is only 20 girls..so it is small. If you don't invite them all they will defintely be upset. Remember hers is a small school and the girls have been together since Kinder. I am thinking a sleepover and a trip to the movies for her ballet girls...decisions decisions.

I am done with my portrait class this week! I uploaded my finished storyboard last night. All I need now is to wait for the instructors feedback. This is so important to me because I don't really have the confidence in my skills. I am not an artistic person at all..I have to really really try hard at it and practice. It comes much more easily to most I have to admit.

Here is my storyboard and artistic statement:

Things between Bobby and i are going ok. We still aren't where we should be..i still think of those that have wronged me and I still feel deceived all around. The good thing is...and it has taken a year to do...that my anger is disappating. Therapy has worked wonders for my soul. I haven't worn my wedding ring in over a year now..and at times I feel like I want a new one..but at the same time I am not ready to remarry Bobby. How can you marry someone you just don't trust?

Ava had her last little miss Brecksville parade on Memorial Day. She looked so cute! Here are a few pics that I snapped:

Ava also graduated from Preschool. So sad. I cried. I am no longer a mother of a preschooler.

Abi and Ava had their CBC ballet recital on May 23rd..it was called "A Mermaid's Tale". Abi was a rainbow fish and Ava was a turtle and water. Here are a few pics..I haven't corrected many yet..

Ajay and Ava's spring soccer ended last Saturday. We had a great day weatherwise. Now our saturday mornings are free! Yeah..no more early morns! We get to sleep in!
Again not many pics corrected but here are 2:

The girls and I love Broadway shows so I purchased tickets to see Mary Poppins in August. Then later that month Bobby and I are going to see the American Idol tour! I can't wait to see Adam Lambert. Sigh..I was disappointed to not see him win..but I am sure he will be the best performer there that night!

So that is, in a nutshell, all the events planned for the Singh Household this summer. What are you all up to??? Don't be shy..come out from lurking and drop me line or 2!!

Some Portraits of my Ava

I am loving this new Portraiture Class that I am taking over at Jessicasprague.com

Candice is a wonderful instructor and the fellow classmates have been outstanding with their comments and participation in the question forums. I highly recommend taking a class over there.

These pics are for our first assignment:

I am so lucky that I have a nice willing model to work with. She has been a trooper let me tell you. She is on autopilot now..she sees the camera come out and then automatically poses and smiles. I hope you don't get sick of looking at her lol!

Photo 1: Front lighting with the use of a reflector (I used a big sheet of white foam board)

Photo 2: Side lighting with a reflector

Photo 3: Side lighting without a reflector

All of the photos I ran a Perfect portrait action by Coffeshop. I had a good exposure so I didn't need to correct levels curves etc. No sharpening either. What do you all think?

Mothers Day 2009

Bobby took us all out for a Mothers Day Brunch over at Fahrenheit in Tremont. The restaurant for me was good. We have eaten there before and had a good experience. The buffet was a little smaller than i would have guessed. There were only like 6 items. No fruit or veggies...weird hugh? Ok I digress..there were grapes on the cheese platter...The strip steak was soo rare that even I wouldn't eat it..and if you know me I like it medium...this steak was dripping with blood and it was soo cold in the middle I wondered if it was cooked! The crowning glory though was the Kobe beef short ribs...omg! They were heavenly..and I sure did help myself to them. The dessert buffet was good...we almost missed it though since our server was most likely annoyed that she had to work and wasn't at all helpful or happy.

Even though the service was lacking..and there weren't as many items on the buffet that I would have thought..we still liked it.

Thanks to our valet we ended up with a decent family photo...

Hopefully everyone had a great mothers day...post a comment as to what you all did to celebrate the day!
